At Statuswalla (operated by STUDX MANAGEMENT PRIVATE LIMITED) you are always in control of your data. This page explains how to request deletion of your account and the personal data associated with it, in line with our Privacy Policy and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
Before you delete — cancel your subscription first. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active UPI Autopay mandate. To stop future charges, first revoke the Statuswalla mandate inside your UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm or BHIM). See the Cancellation & Refund Policy for steps.
Option 1 — Delete from within the app
The fastest way to delete your account is directly inside the Statuswalla app:
- Open the Statuswalla app on your phone.
- Go to Profile → Settings.
- Tap Delete Account (also shown as "Delete Profile").
- Confirm your choice when prompted. Your account and associated personal data will be scheduled for permanent deletion.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion by email:
- Send an email to support@studx.in from the email address linked to your account.
- Use the subject line "Delete My Account — Statuswalla".
- Include your registered mobile number so we can verify and locate your account.
We may contact you to verify your identity before processing the request, to protect your account from unauthorised deletion.
What data is deleted
Once your request is verified and processed, we permanently delete the personal data we hold about you, including:
- Your profile information — name, phone number and email address.
- Your account preferences, language and category selections.
- Your in-app activity and usage history linked to your profile.
- Device identifiers associated with your account.
What data may be retained (and why)
For legal and regulatory reasons, certain records cannot be deleted immediately and are retained for the period required by law, after which they are securely deleted or anonymised:
- Transaction & billing records — retained as required under applicable tax, GST and the Companies Act, 2013 (typically up to 8 years), to meet financial-audit and statutory obligations.
- Records needed to comply with the law, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or enforce our agreements.
We do not store sensitive financial details such as UPI PINs, net-banking credentials or card numbers — these are handled entirely by our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway partner.
How long it takes
Verified deletion requests are actioned within 7 working days, and your personal data is fully removed from our active systems within 30 days (except for the limited records we are legally required to retain, as described above). Once deletion is complete, this action is permanent and cannot be undone — you would need to create a new account to use Statuswalla again.
